We're passionate about creating meaningful dining experiences that go beyond the lunch service. Our partnership with Oasis Academy Mayfield is a fantastic example of how collaboration can inspire healthier eating habits, support sustainability and enrich students' learning.
Working alongside the school, our catering team has helped bring their Garden to Kitchen initiative to life. Students have spent months growing a variety of fruit, vegetables and herbs in the school's Wild Haven, learning about planting, caring for crops and harvesting fresh produce. Once ready, the ingredients are delivered straight to our kitchen, where our chefs transform them into colourful, nutritious dishes for everyone to enjoy.
By incorporating freshly harvested produce into our menus, we're able to give students the unique opportunity to see the complete journey from seed to plate. Whether it's crisp salad leaves, fresh herbs, juicy strawberries or seasonal vegetables, students can enjoy meals made with ingredients they've helped to grow, creating a real sense of pride and achievement.
This initiative is about much more than great food. It encourages children to try new flavours, understand where their food comes from and appreciate the importance of sustainable food production. Using produce grown just steps away from the kitchen also helps reduce food miles while celebrating the value of seasonal, homegrown ingredients.
We're incredibly proud of our catering team for embracing this project and working closely with staff and students to make it such a success. Their creativity and enthusiasm have helped turn the school's harvest into delicious meals that not only nourish students but also support the wider curriculum and the academy's commitment to outdoor learning.
We believe school food should educate, inspire and bring communities together. Our work with Oasis Academy Mayfield demonstrates how catering teams can play an active role in supporting wellbeing, sustainability and hands-on learning—proving that the best ingredients aren't just fresh, they're grown with care by the students who enjoy them.
Together, we're not just serving lunch—we're helping to grow healthier futures.
