Supporting Inclusive Workplaces Andrew’s story of 15 years of service

At Alliance in Partnership, we want every team member to feel respected, valued, and part of something meaningful. For 15 years, Andrew has been an important part of the kitchen team at Our Lady of the Magnificat School. He is known for his dedication, reliability, and positive attitude he brings to the team.

Andrew’s journey has been supported by the Warwickshire Supported Employment Service (WSES), a programme that helps people with learning disabilities and autism find and keep meaningful work. Through WSES, he has a dedicated Journey Guide who works with him to create a personalised support plan, helping him build skills, confidence, and independence.

There are still myths about what people with Down syndrome and other learning disabilities can do, but Andrew’s story proves them wrong. With the right guidance and opportunities, people of all abilities can contribute in meaningful ways and become vital members of their teams.

Thanks to WSES, Andrew has been able to access job clubs, workshops, employer visits, travel training, and ongoing coaching—all of which help him feel confident and supported in his role every day.

A Culture of Belonging and Inclusion

As part of the Sodexo Group, Alliance in Partnership embraces the group’s global commitment to building a culture of belonging and inclusion. We strive to remove barriers and ensure that all our team members feel respected and empowered to reach their potential. This culture is reflected in our school kitchens, where we recognise and celebrate each individual’s unique strengths. We believe our workplaces should embody the diversity of the communities we serve, creating spaces where everyone can grow and succeed, just like Andrew has.

We are proud to have Andrew on our team and to celebrate the milestone of 15 years of his service. Thank you Andrew, for your hard work and everything you bring to our team.
